Sending Race Call Requests
When you need a call made, find the event combination in your dashboard and tap the appropriate call button. The request goes directly to the announcer's queue.
Call Types
Three call buttons appear on each event row by default:
| Button | When to use it |
|---|---|
| First Call | Initial notice. Athletes should begin making their way toward staging. |
| Second Call | Follow-up. Athletes should be at or near the staging area. |
| Final Call | Last call. Athletes must report immediately. |
Tap Advanced to reveal three combined options:
| Button | When to use it |
|---|---|
| First & Second Call | Combined first and second when the schedule is moving quickly. |
| First & Final Call | Combined when going straight to final. |
| Second & Final Call | Combined second and final when the field is nearly ready. |
Confirming Your Request
Tapping a call button opens a confirmation screen before anything is sent. This prevents accidental requests from a pocket tap or a misfire. Review the call type and event name shown and tap Confirm to submit.
Suggestions for Out-of-Order Calls
If you tap a call type that skips ahead in the typical sequence, for example tapping Final Call when no prior call has been sent, SecondCall will suggest a combined call type instead. The suggestion appears as a prompt with the recommended option highlighted. You can accept the suggestion or dismiss it and proceed with your original selection.
After You Submit
Once submitted, the status line on the event row updates to show the time you submitted and how long ago that was. Two options appear inline:
Undo cancels the request before the announcer acts on it. Use this if you tapped the wrong call type or submitted by mistake.
Re-request resubmits the request and bumps it to the top of the announcer's queue. Use this if time has passed and the call has not been made yet.
When the announcer sends the call, the status line updates to a green checkmark with the time it was sent. The completed call button grays out to confirm it is done.
