Getting Started

Downloading the App​

SecondCall is available on iOS and Android. Search for SecondCall in the App Store or Google Play, or find the download links at secondcall.app.

The app is free. No account, no name, no email required.

The Home Screen​

When you open the app, you land on the home screen showing upcoming meets. Each card displays the meet name, date, and venue. Tap any card to open that meet.

Meets appear in two states. A LIVE badge means the meet is active and event call notifications are being sent. A PREVIEW badge means the meet is published and you can subscribe to events, but calls have not started yet. You can search by name or venue, filter by Live or Preview, and sort by date using the controls at the top of the list.

If you do not see your meet, it may not have been published by the meet director yet. Pull down to refresh, or try again closer to the start time.

First Time in a Meet: the Tutorial​

The first time you open any meet, a tutorial walks you through how the app works. It shows once automatically and can be accessed again at any time from the menu under App Tutorial.

The tutorial covers four topics:

Stay in the Loop. The app delivers event calls to your lock screen. You will be prompted to enable push notifications and agree to the terms of service. Notifications arrive even when your phone is in your pocket.

Alert Options. You can choose individual events by division and gender, subscribe to an entire event type across all divisions, receive every call at the meet, receive announcements only, or turn notifications off entirely. You can change your choice at any time.

Build Your Alert List Fast. If you are tracking more than one athlete, the Save & Add Another button lets you lock in one selection and return to the start to add the next. This lets you build your full alert list in one go without repeating steps.

Your Alert Queue. The My Alerts tab is your personalized feed showing only the calls for events you subscribed to. The All Alerts tab shows every call and announcement sent at the meet. Once your alerts are set up, the app remembers your meet and opens directly to My Alerts on your next visit.

Note: Always defer to the PA system and meet officials for final guidance on when and where to report. SecondCall is a supplemental tool, not a replacement for the official PA announcement.
